Our MISSION

Chosen Family Farm is a sacred, organic market garden devoted to regenerative agriculture and right relationship with the Earth. We grow food as an act of love, and justice, —honoring the wisdom of the land, our more-than-human relatives, and the people we feed. Through community supported agriculture, work-share, and pay-it-forward practices, we offer nourishing, organic food to our community regardless of income. Rooted in abundance rather than scarcity, we commit to sharing the harvest through donations to local food banks and in support of LGBTQIA2S+ spiritual retreats, cultivating healing, belonging, and holy connection with the living world.

OUR VALUES

Equity and Food Access

Chosen Family Farm is committed to advancing equitable access to fresh, organic produce. We intentionally structure our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program to include work-share opportunities, and pay-it-forward contributions. In addition, we donate a portion of our harvest to local food banks and community partners to ensure that income level does not determine access to nutritious food.

Environmental Stewardship

We practice regenerative, organic agriculture designed to restore soil health, increase biodiversity, and protect water systems. Our farming methods prioritize long-term ecological sustainability over short-term yield, recognizing that environmental resilience is foundational to community health and food security.

Community Well-Being and Belonging

Chosen Family Farm operates as a community-centered agricultural space that fosters connection, inclusion, and collective care. We actively support LGBTQIA2S+ affirming spaces, including spiritual retreat initiatives, and cultivate an environment where diverse community members experience dignity, belonging, and shared stewardship of the land.

This isn’t just a business—it’s a reflection of what we believe in. We’re here to create work that matters, led by a shared commitment to quality and care.

OUR STORY

I’m Jennifer, she/her, and my fur-babies Canelo & Joy. I grew up on a 25‑acre farm in southwest Ohio where my family tended a 2‑acre garden and my father shared the harvest widely. As an adult I gardened in cities — balcony planters, a raised bed, and community plots along the street. In 2025 I left city life to farm full time.

Farming for me is justice work. Food is a basic human need and a public good, not a commodity only for those who can afford it. I’m committed to growing organic vegetables and directing them toward neighbors who face food insecurity, low wages, or unequal access to healthy food. That means offering work-share and pay it forward options, donating surplus to mutual aid networks and, partnering with food pantries that respect recipients’ dignity.

I also center land justice on the farm: stewarding soil without chemical inputs, and working against systems that concentrate land ownership and push small-scale farmers out. I aim to build ties with local Indigenous, immigrant, and BIPOC communities to support food sovereignty and shared decision-making, not top‑down charity.

My goal is to make organic vegetables available to everyone, regardless of income — by redistributing abundance, reducing barriers to access, and changing the systems that keep healthy food out of reach.
